Julie Chen Moonves hosted the famous summer reality series Big Brother which returned to CBS for its 22nd Season on August 5. Chen Moonves had been the first of The Talk's hosts. She was moderating and hosting The Talk between 2010 and 2018, when she was the host. Her real passion came when she started writing, and was awarded an Emmy. Hosting an outstanding entertainment talk show has earned her a second Emmy. From 2002 until 2010 Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. She anchors The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour morning news program at the beginning of the day. Chen Moonves also covered the war in Iraq, among other major reports, for The Early Show. In the wake of 9/11 Chen Moonves was able to track down the father of the hijackers and their leader to give an exclusive interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers like the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and queen Rania of Jordan as well as the former defense secretary William Cohen, and celebrities such as Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves has also worked with CBS's New York City station WCBS as a reporter anchor, and anchor (1997-1999). Before becoming a part of CBS News from 1995 Chen Moonves had been as a reporter at WDTN TV Dayton. Her previous jobs include working as a reporter at ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news channel (1992-1995) and a desk-assistant within ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) and all the while completing her final year of school in the University of Southern California. It was her first job in broadcasting as a Desk Assistant on ABC News' late-night show Nightline with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains among her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves, who won Columbia du-Pont for the primetime Anatomy of a Riot special in 1992, which focused on the Los Angeles riots, worked in conjunction with Koppel.
